The Virginia Tech Foundation, Inc. (Foundation) was established in 1948 to receive, manage, and disburse private gifts in support of Virginia Tech programs. The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation governed by its board of directors. The Foundation serves the university by generating funding from private sources and aggressively managing its assets to provide funding which supplements state appropriations. The Foundation provides additional operating support to colleges and departments, assists in the funding of major building projects, and provides seed capital for new university initiatives.
To process Disbursements vouchers in an accurate and timely manner while providing exceptional customer service to the university community. This position is responsible for ensuring the integrity of the imaging databases and supervising Virginia Tech Student Interns. The position will assist Fund Project Coordinator in daily fund maintenance activities such as establishing new funds, updating existing funds, reviewing, scanning, preparing memos, naming files and filing. This position will perform other clerical duties, such as front desk coverage as needed.
Must possess accounts payable experience, advanced spreadsheet and data entry skills, excellent communication and customer service skills, experience with Microsoft Office and SCT Banner Finance, fundamental knowledge of accounting, W9’s and 1099 process. Associates degree preferred; or equivalent level training and/or experience in accounting or related field.
